A unique meeting of the teams that includes transforming Staples Center from ice to hardwood and back and forth begins at 7 p.m. Thursday when the Los Angeles Kings host the Anaheim Ducks in Game 3 of the NHL’s 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The series also marks the first time in franchise history that the southern California rivals have faced each other in the post season. Immediately following that face-to-face the arena floor will turn from ice to the hardwood to prepare for Friday night’s NBA playoffs pitting the Los Angeles Clippers vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder in game three of their second round NBA Playoff series.

After Friday night’s 7:30 p.m. game, the operations crew will once again convert the Clippers court and all of the other basketball-only elements to have it set for LA Kings vs. Anaheim Ducks Game 4 on Saturday, May 10th at 6:30 p.m. The weekend will end with the Los Angeles Clippers hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game four of their series at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 11th.

Both the Los Angeles Kings and Clippers will be hosting free pre-game Fan Fests outside of Staples Center and at Nokia Plaza at L.A. LIVE that will include interactive games, giveaways and beer garden.

“This is going to be an incredible four days for Staples Center and the sports fans of Los Angeles, hosting four playoff games in four days is something we have all been waiting for since the Kings and Clippers made it to the postseason,” Lee Zeidman, Sr.vice president and general manger, Staples Center, Nokia Theatre and L.A. LIVE."
