Laughter filled the arena as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the 70th Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California last night (January 13, 2013). Hundreds of hopeful entertainers turned out in their best wear to find out if they would be recipients of one of the most coveted trophies in the industry, but only a few were chosen as Hollywood's best this year.
Although the show is about glitz and glamor, Tina and Amy added a bit of humor to the awards with their fun and games. The women moved the show right along, making jokes here and there while announcing the various categories. Bill Clinton joined Fey and Poehler as host during one segment of the show when he introduced the celebrated movie, Lincoln to attendees. The 42nd President of the United States received a standing ovation and roar as he made his way to the platform's center.
Daniel Day-Lewis, star of Lincoln, was one of several celebrities to take home the gold last night. Jessica Chastain and Hugh Jackman also received Golden Globe awards for their work in Zero Dark Thirty and Les Miserables. Damian Lewis and Claire Danes represented the television series Homeland well as they both won Golden Globe awards for their contributions to the show.
The Golden Globes had several surprises and Kodak moments that made it one unforgettable night for stars and commoners. What will the awards show unveil next year?
