While speaking with reporters Tuesday in Las Vegas, Democratic Party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton became visibly agitated while responding to questions over a private email server she used while serving as Secretary of State. Clinton dismissed the controversy, and maintained that she had done nothing wrong by using a server reports now say was maintained in a bathroom closet of a loft apartment.
"What I did was legally permitted, number one, first and foremost," she told Fox News' Ed Henry. "We turned over everything that was work-related, every single thing." In "retrospect," she added, having a personal server while at the State Department was not "convenient."
"I regret that this has become a cause celebre. But that does not change the facts, and no matter what anybody tries to say, the facts are stubborn," she said. "I know there is a certain level of anxiety or interest in this, but the facts are the facts."
Clinton showed a clear level of frustration when she responded to a question about the server being wiped. Initially, she shrugged it off as if to say, "what difference, at this point, does it make?" She later tried using a sarcastic joke: "Like with a cloth or something?”
Aides can be heard telling reporters that Clinton has to leave. As she left, The Hill said, Clinton "turned back and shrugged at reporters, who continued to ask questions."
The Hill, Business Insider, the Washington Post and the New York Times were among several outlets that described Clinton as "testy" during the press conference. But, Twitchy said, Matt McDermott of the Democratic polling firm Lake Research Partners, told The Hill its description was "sexist."
"Hi @thehill, so like, you realize that the adjective 'testy' is blatantly sexist, right?" he tweeted. But, the Twitchy staff said, "[t]esty as an adjective to describe Hillary Clinton is accurate, not sexist and here to stay!" And judging from the video, which can be seen above, "testy" accurately describes Clinton's response to Henry's questions.
