Clint Eastwood's separation from his wife, Dina Ruiz, has been confirmed. Dina told Us Weekly Aug. 29 that the headlines are true about their split. She shared that she and Clint remain close, but are living separate lives and have for some time.
Eastwood's rep didn't confirm or deny the separation.
"I know nothing about that," his rep said.
In March reports emerged that Dina entered rehab for depression and anxiety problems. It was then that speculations of an Eastwood separation soon followed. Now the news is official and naturally rumors about a possible divorce are already brewing.
A source told Us that the Eastwood separation actually happened in June 2012, but that it was "amicable."
Clint and Dina have one child together -- Morgan, 16. Eastwood has seven other children. One is from a previous marriage and the others are from past relationships.
The pair have been married 17 years and join another celebrity couple in the same boat. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are separating after 13 years of marriage. Ironically, Zeta-Jones sought rehab for her own issues with depression like Dina. In her case, she copes with a form of bipolar disorder.
