Oscar-winning filmmaker Clint Eastwood (who is 83) has separated from his wife Dina (who is 48), and it appears unlikely that they will get back together. Us Weekly reported on Aug. 29, 2013, that the estranged spouses (who got married to each other in 1996) have actually been living apart since June 2012, but their separation wasn't made public until more than a year later. Clint and Dina Eastwood have a 16-year-old daughter named Morgan.
An unnamed insider told Us weekly that the split is "amicable" and that "Clint fell out of love with Dina a long time ago."
Clint Eastwood's representatives have been telling the media that they do not comment on his personal life.
The estranged spouses have not yet publicly commented on their separation. In April 2013, TMZ reported that Dina Eastwood had checked into a rehab facility for depression and anxiety.
This was Clint Eastwood's second marriage. He and first wife, Maggie Johnson, were married from 1953 to 1984, and they had two kids together: daughter Alison and son Kyle. Clint also has several children from other relationships that he had before he married Dina, including a daughter named Francesca from his relationship with ex-girlfriend Frances Fisher.
Dina, Morgan and Francesca were stars of the short-lived reality show "Mrs. Eastwood & Company," which chronicled their family life and Dina's attempts to make the South African a cappella group Overtone a success in the music business. The reality show (which was televised in the U.S. in 2012 on E! Entertainment Television) and Overtone's music failed to be hits with the public. Clint made occasional appearances on the reality show.
Clint and Dina (who used to be a TV reporter) met when she interviewed him for a local TV station in California, back when her name was Dina Ruiz. She had a cameo as a TV reporter in Clint's 2002 movie "Blood Work." She also had a small acting role in his 1999 movie "True Crime."
Clint Eastwood is directing a movie version of the stage musical "Jersey Boys," which is based on the true story of the Four Seasons, led by Frankie Valli. The movie's release date is to be announced. Christopher Walken has been cast as mobster Angelo “Gyp” DeCarlo in the "Jersey Boys" movie. Filming begins in mid-September 2013 in Los Angeles. John Lloyd Young has the role of Valli.
Clint Eastwood had been planning to direct a remake of "A Star Is Born," but that project fell apart when Beyoncé Knowles dropped out of the starring role in 2012, due to "scheduling conflicts." His most recent movie as an actor was the 2012 baseball drama "Trouble With the Curve," which co-starred Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake and John Goodman.
