The 83-year-old award winning actor and director was in attendance at the PGA Tour event earlier this week when it is reported that the tournament director Steve John began choking on a piece of cheese.
Eastwood reacted swift, and quickly going to the aid of John performing the Heimlich maneuver.
John released a statement to the media about how Eastwood saves his life saying:
''I was drinking water and eating these little appetizers, threw down a piece of cheese and it just didn't work,'' John said Friday.
''I was looking at him and couldn't breathe. He recognized it immediately and saved my life.' ''I can't believe I'm 202 pounds and he threw me up in the air three times,'' John said.
Amazingly enough john claims that this is not the first time his life has been saved by someone performing the Heimlich maneuver for him, he just never expected it would be Clint Eastwood that saves him.
Eastwood recalled how he saved john after the emergency stating:
"I gave him three good jolts. The look on Steve's face was different than when somebody is just coughing or joking around. I looked in his eyes and saw that look of panic people have when they see their life passing before their very eyes. It looked bad."
This is a great example of just how useful learning this emergency medical procedure can really be, not just for John, but for everyone.
What do you think about Clint Eastwood saving this man's life, not just an on screen hero, but a hero in life.
