Clint Eastwood defends Chrysler Super Bowl commercial, says it was not political

Clint Eastwood made some headlines courtesy of his appearance in the Chrysler Super Bowl commercial entitled "Halftime in America" over the weekend, but he is doing his best at the moment to stress one thing -- it was not meant to favor any political party.

Responding to Fox News about claims that he was supporting the Democrat-supported bailout of car companies, Eastwood tried to explain what his purpose in doing the ad was:

“It was meant to be a message, just about job growth and the spirit of America. I think all politicians will agree with it. I thought the spirit was OK.”

Eastwood also stressed that he sent over his entire paycheck for the ad to charity, meaning that he was doing the ad in hopes of showcasing some sort of greater good.

What do you think about Clint's commentary on this ad?
