Clint Eastwood and his newest film, "Trouble with the Curve," will be in Humboldt County theaters beginning Friday, September 21. Eastwood has starred in, directed, produced or composed for over 50 movies since first stepping in front of the camera in 1955. He is credited as both a producer and an actor in "Trouble with the Curve."
The movie opening in theaters around the country of September 21 stars Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake, along with Eastwood. It's the story of a baseball scout on the eve of his retirement who goes on one last recruiting trip and takes his daughter along with him. Eastwood is Gus, the aging scout with failing eyesight, Adams is his daughter Mickey, and Timberlake portrays a rival scout. John Goodman also appears in the film as Gus' boss and friend; Scott Eastwood, Clint's son, makes an appearance as Billy Clark.
Although Eastwood has a long list of accomplishments both in front of the camera and behind it, most recently he has made headlines with his political affiliations. He made a surprise appearance at the Republican National Convention and caused a media firestorm with his stage performance. He held a conversation with an invisible President Obama, represented by an empty chair. Eastwood recently spoke with Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show about this event and other political topics.
"Trouble with the Curve" is rated PG-13 for language, sexual references, some thematic material and smoking. It can be seen in Humboldt County at Fortuna Theatre, Broadway Cinema in Eureka, Mill Creek Cinema in McKinleyville and The Minor in Arcata.
