The Japanese Gardens in the Clingendael Estate is open to the public for the second and last time of the year, and is the perfect place to experience Holland's fall foliage. The Japanese Garden at Clingendael is the oldest Japanese garden in the Netherlands and are listed on the Dutch National Historical Sites. Because of the delicate nature of the plants the garden is only open during the spring and for two weeks in the fall.
Located in Clingendael park in The Hague, the gardens were designed in the early 20th century by the owner of the Clingendael Estate, "Lady Daisy", who sought to interpret the Japanese gardens she'd admired during her travels. A free map of the gardens and a walking route are available at the entrance to the gardens.
The gardens are open daily from 10am to 4pm through the end of the month.
