In order to fully understand the deeper inspiration for the climate change movement, we must delve into the concept that socialism must cloak itself with something in order to attract the attention (or the votes) of otherwise good, sensible people. If tyrants marketed their ideas without any smoke or mirrors, the likelihood is minimal that a free, prosperous citizenry would accept government intervention in every aspect of their lives, or that they would easily transfer power to a central government, or that they would allow elected officials to confiscate their wealth, or that they would allow the government to read their private communications. The ideas of tyrants would be rejected wholeheartedly as detrimental to liberty, freedom, and prosperity. Their myriad programs and agencies and services would be unnecessary, for a free and independent people would not feel enticed by the extended hands of the government. Often, when the powerful seek submission and obedience from the people, the most common tactic is fear. Nothing works better than fear to get people to abandon those silly notions about privacy and liberty and rights.
The movement to instill fear in people around the world and to convince them that the climate is changing due to manmade pollution is just one of many examples of people in authority disguising their true intentions in order to make them more appealing to the masses. Without even looking at the actual climatological data, a lay person can look at how the debate has shifted over many decades to serve the ulterior motives of those in power. Initially, the marketing campaign was designed to convince people that manmade pollution would lead to an ice age. This strategy was cleverly delivered during a cold period in the 1970s to make it seem more real and imminent. When the strategy failed, the powers repackaged the agenda and warned of melting ice caps and rising seas due to the same pollution. Again, the timing of the change in philosophy came during a convenient period when temperatures were rising. Still unable to coerce enough people to accept their premises, the latest iteration combines all of the previous warnings into one ominous product called climate change. This broad approach seems to cover any possible natural event from blizzards to tornadoes to hurricanes to droughts to floods, making just about any moment ideal for selling the concept.
Vice President Al Gore's continued attempts to try and convince us about the validity of climate change is assessed by Wesley Pruden in The Washington Times who writes that, "the inconvenient truth Al and the junk scientists have to deal with is that temperatures aren’t rising, but falling. In fact, since the early 1990s we’ve had global cooling. It got so embarrassing Al and the junk scientists started calling it 'climate change.'" Pruden added that "President Obama tried the other day to elbow Al aside to lead with his assertion that hurricanes are getting worse and that only he has the power to put them in their place. Hurricanes are actually getting not worse, but fewer. Only three major hurricanes have made landfall so far in Mr. Obama’s presidency. Grover Cleveland, who was president between 1885 and 1889, entertained 26 major hurricanes during his presidency, and that was before global warning was invented."
Facts do not matter to those who seek to distort them for their own purposes and facts do not matter for millions of people who don't bother to check on the validity of such information conveyed to them by the leftist media. Those who are not paying attention to the sleight of hand are unaware of the decades-long evolution of the climate change scam. They buy into the fear-mongering and are willing to hand over whatever Al Gore and other alarmists claim is necessary in order to set the climate back on its natural course. And what they desire is for the people to give not only the American government but the global government incredible powers to change virtually every aspect of our lives. Essentially, we would lose our souls to these people until they determined that the problem of climate change had been ameliorated. That day would never come, for those with evil intentions never stop on their own accord. Whether Gore is able to dupe enough people is questionable at the moment, for enough people with common sense continue to reject his dire warnings. But now that climate change apparently manifests itself in everything from a sunny day on the beach to a windswept snowstorm to a dust devil, it is up to us to recognize this repackaging as nothing more than tyranny by another name.
