A bevy of live musical entertainment, a variety of arts & crafts and lots of family-oriented activities await at the annual Clifton Gorge Music & Arts Festival in historic Clifton, Ohio on Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30.

Clifton Gorge Music & Arts Festival This 2-day fun, family-friendly event takes place in downtown Clifton just down the street from the picturesque Clifton Gorge Nature Preserve (situated along the Little Miami River) which has been designated a Natural National Landmark.

A Bit About Clifton Gorge This 2 mile long gorge is composed of dolomite and limestone and has been called one of the finest examples of interglacial and post-glacial canyon cutting. The Gorge features waterfalls and rapids and has been deemed one of the best places in the country to see Spring wildflowers.

Celebrating local musicians and artisans, the Clifton Gorge Music & Arts Festival will feature non-stop entertainment that encompasses a wide variety of music genres including Bluegrass, Reggae, Jazz, Progressive Rock, Blues, Country and Americana. Visitors will also be able to enjoy performances by the Soul Tribe Fire Dancers.

The Festival will also feature more than 40 artisans offering items like jewelry, soaps, musical instruments, spices, ceramics and wood crafts.

Other activities include corn hole, horseshoes, karaoke and a ball toss. And make sure to take a tour of the historic Clifton Opera House built in 1893.

The Festival will also hold a parade on Saturday at noon featuring floats, bands, pioneers and scarecrows.

There will be a variety of food and beverages available for purchase. The Festival will also have a beer tent.

While in Clifton, check out the nearby scenic Clifton Mill which was built in 1802. Clifton Mill is best known for its spectacular holiday lights display (running from mid-November through New Year's) with millions of lights that illuminate the mill, gorge, riverbank, trees and bridges.

A Bit of Trivia Clifton, Ohio is the birthplace of famed Ohio State University football coach Woody Hayes.

Hours for the Clifton Gorge Music & Arts Festival are 4 p.m. - 11 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.

The Festival will take place in downtown Clifton and at the Clifton Opera House located at 5 Clay St. It is approximately a 3 hour, 15 minute drive from Cleveland.
