Cleveland Zoo to offer Homeschool program

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is not only fun but the educational experiences that they offer for all ages are endless. Families, schools and daycare providers have long been taking advantage of the zoo's free and low cost programs and activities. The Zoo announced Jan. 3 via the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo facebook page that their Homeschool Program will begin Jan.8.

The program will be offered from January through May and September through December. Participants will meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month in the Jungle lab classrooms in the Rainforest. Each program is tailored for specific age groups; grades K- 2, 3-5 and 6-8. The cost is $5 for zoo members up to $10 for non-members. The fee includes admission to the zoo, one parent or adult is admitted free of charge.

Programs offered include: Chemistry, Genetics, Anatomy, Zoology, and Physics. The last meeting of the season is called "A Day In The Life" where the kids will learn what it is like to be a zookeeper.
