Cleveland Orchestra’s 25th annual Star-Spangled Spectacular is tomorrow night

Event will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Public Square in Cleveland, Ohio

The weather looks absolutely perfect for this Wednesday as the Cleveland Orchestra will be tuning up for the annual “Star-Spangled Spectacular” free concert that will be held on Public Square in Downtown Cleveland, Ohio. The Orchestra will be performing under the direction of Loras John Schissel and the concert will begin at 9:00 p.m.

Prior to the concert, “Make Music” videos that were submitted and chosen will be shown on the giant screen on Public Square starting at 7:00 p.m. Along with this, a line-up of Cleveland gourmet food trucks will be on hand to provide a variety of gourmet cuisines for concert goers.

This concert marks the 25th year that the Cleveland Orchestra has presented this free community musical review in downtown Cleveland as each year the crowds get bigger and bigger.

The concerts are financed by a combination of public and private partnerships with the residents of Cuyahoga County taking the lead through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. This year’s concert has KeyBank as the official corporate sponsor

This year’s concert features old favorites and some new surprises as the Orchestra performs such favorites as “The Star Spangled Banner”, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”, “The Stars and Stripes Forever”, John Williams “Superman March”, George Gershwin’s “Prelude No. 2”, an Armed Forces Salute and will finish off with Piotr I. Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” which will be followed by fireworks.
