If you have never been to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s “Boo at the Zoo” you should give it a try. This year marks the 24th year that the Zoo has sponsored this event. The entire zoo is decorated in a Halloween motif that is safe and scare-free for the entire family. There are cool surprises around every corner but nothing to frighten even the smallest of children.
Come dressed as your favorite critter, firefighter, witch, princess or pirate costume (adults are asked to refrain from wearing full coverage face masks) and check out the “Not So Haunted Greenhouse”, get your Halloween groove on at the “Monster Mash Dance Party” and take a train ride with “The Pirates of the Scare-ibbean. There will also be magic shows, cellists, skeleton banjo players, giant bubble makers and animal encounters as you make your way around the Zoo.
While visiting “Boo at the Zoo” families can enjoy an array of Halloween themed activities that involve the entire family. Guests can also visit their favorite Zoo animals after dark including: grizzly bears, wolves, tigers, lions and elephants.
Special holiday decorations, lights, music and activities are designed to keep your children happy for a night of family fun that you will not forget. It is safe, scare-free and all age appropriate.
The dates for “Boo at the Zoo” are October 17 through 20 and October 25 through 27, 2013. Hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are available by going to clemetzoo.com or at the Zoo’s Box Office. General Admission is $8.00 and children younger than 2 are allowed in free. Zoo members receive $1.00 off each admission.
There is so much to see and do, you might have to come more than once!
Guests are encouraged to bring flashlights to illuminate some of the darker areas of the Zoo.
Northeast Ohio’s most-visited year-round attraction, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $12.25 per person, $8.25 for kids ages 2 to 11 and free for children younger than 2 and Zoo members. Parking is free. Located at 3900 Wildlife Way, the Zoo is easily accessible from Interstates 71, 90, and 480.
