For biking enthusiasts, Cleveland offers a terrific variety of trail and street riding that takes you through anything from quant neighborhoods to deep forest. There is, however, only one place where your bike ride can take you past elephants, giraffes and wolves. The family friendly and ever popular “Wild Ride at the Zoo” is back. This year’s first ride is scheduled for Friday, July 25, 2014 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

“Wild Ride at the Zoo” starts after the regular closing time in order to have cyclists have free access to all the zoo paths. As you enter the Welcome Plaza you will be given a map that shows various bike routes around the Zoo. You can choose a route that perfectly matches your riding ability from beginner, intermediate to experienced rider. This is a unique way of seeing the Zoo as you navigate the various routes under your own power with scores of outdoor animals on exhibit to view. In case you do not have a bike or for that matter a way of transporting your bike to the Zoo you can rent a bike for the evening. The Bike Rack will be on hand to take care of your two wheel needs. In order to be assured that your bike is there and waiting for you can reserve your ride by calling (216) 771-7120. The number of bikes available is limited so it is suggested you call soon.
