Winterrific This family-oriented event spotlights some of the best activities that the Cleveland winter season has to offer. Among some of the activities are dog sled demonstrations ( noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.), Horse-drawn wagon rides (from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.), a Winter snow bike demonstration provided by Country Cycles ( 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.), Winter Bird Hikes (noon - 1 p.m.), a Winter Survival Skill demonstration (1 p.m. and 3 p.m.) and an ice fishing demonstration (at nearby Wallace Lake - at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.)

All demonstrations are free. The horse-drawn wagon rides are $5 per person. Snowshoe rentals and instruction will also be available for $5 per person from noon - 4 p.m.. Free winter crafts for kids will also be offered from noon - 5 p.m.
Visitors will be able to purchase food and refreshments inside the Chalet where they can also enjoy a cozy fire where they can warm up. The Earthworks Nature Shop will be open for merchandise purchases.
The Chalet Recreation's Area's big attraction, of course, is the two refrigerated toboggan ice chutes, the only public ice chutes in Ohio. Don't miss your chance to whoosh down the chutes at 45 MPH. And there is no more carrying your toboggans up all those stairs thanks to the toboggan lift that was installed last season. The daily admission fee for the toboggan chutes is $10 for adults and $8 for children (11 and under).
The toboggan chutes will be open from now through mid-March, 2014.
