The temperature has fallen and the snow has begun to fall signaling that winter is here in Northeast Ohio. This also means the opening of the Cleveland Metroparks Chalet Toboggan Chutes.
Before the children head back to school in early January, bring the entire family to enjoy the winter season at “Winteriffic” that will be held at the Cleveland Metroparks Chalet Toboggan Chutes in Mill Stream Run Reservation in Strongsville on Sunday, January 5, 2013 from noon to 5:00 p.m.
This hugely popular free events has a huge assortment of winter related activities that include dog sled programs, winter survival skill classes, ice fishing demonstrations, ice sculpting, snow bike demonstrations, winter crafts for children, snow man building areas just to name a few.
There will also be a horse-drawn wagon to ride around the Chalet (accompanied by a naturalist) as well as snowshoe rental.

Some activities are subject to proper winter conditions
Plus, you can ride the Chalet Toboggan Chutes, the only public ice chutes in Ohio, now with a toboggan lift! The daily admission fee for tobogganing is ONLY $10 for adults and $8 for children, 11 and younger. One-time ride tickets are available for $4. Food and refreshments will be available for sale at the Chalet concession stand.
The Chalet Recreation Area is located at 16200 Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, between Routes 42 and 82 in Strongsville - just a short distance from I-71 and the Ohio Turnpike.
