Hayrides are one of the best ways to enjoy the cool autumn air and fall colors in Cleveland Metroparks
Are you looking for a great fall family activity, something that the entire family will enjoy and remember for years to come? Stop by the Chalet Recreation Area in Mill Stream Run Reservation on a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon for an old-fashioned tractor drawn hayride.
Throughout the month of October, the Cleveland Metroparks will be offering hayrides on Saturday nights (October 5, 12, 19 and 26) from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. as well as Sunday afternoons (October 6, 13, 20 and 27) from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Also available on site is a hay maze along with a bunch of family entertainment including square dancing for all ages. Sundays will feature activities such as pumpkin painting (for a nominal fee) as well as crafts and coloring stations.
Rides are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and leave approximately every half hour. Hayrides are $8 for adults, $6 for children ages 3 to 11, and free for children 2 and younger (must sit on adult lap).
Private hayrides for groups of 20 to 25 people can be booked for weekends in October for $160 per wagon. You can also schedule "dayrides" on October 11 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. These trips are perfect for daytime outings such as preschool trips, senior and family picnics, or business get-aways at $95 per wagon.
Private Hayrides that include rental of the Chalet Recreation Area are available throughout October during non-public hours. Advanced reservations are required for group rides and rentals.
Refreshments such as hot chocolate, cappuccino and snacks are available at the Chalet concession stand during public hours and private rentals.
The Chalet Recreation Area is located at 16200 Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, between Routes 42 and 82 in Strongsville - off I-71 and the Ohio Turnpike.
