So you think you’re in pretty good shape,…you eat right, exercise and run the occasional 5K? How about a real challenge to test your metal? The Ledges to Lake Adventure Race are for those hardy individuals who want to test themselves to a new set of limits. It combines running, kayaking and bicycling in an extreme test of endurance. Think of it as a mini-Ironman competition.
The event takes place on September 20, 2014 at the Spillway Picnic Area in the Hinckley Reservation. It begins with a three mile run followed by a two mile kayak paddle around Hinckley Lake finishing with a nine mile bike ride for an outdoor adventure tour de force. For those wishing to break out of the same old training routine it’s the perfect challenge while also having fun and witnessing the beautiful views of the Cleveland Metroparks.
Registration for the event is from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. with kick-off at 9:00 a.m. You can register as an individual: ages 14 and older, as a team: ages 10 and older (with participating adult), or as a relay team (two to three people): ages 14 and older.
Preregistrations will be accepted on and after Monday, September 1, 2014. The fees are $55.00 as an individual, $80.00 per team team , and $100 as a relay. A limited supply of kayaks can be reserved for $10 per boat.
Spillway Picnic Area is located off West Drive in Hinckley Reservation, off Bellus Road in Hinckley Township.
