Runners and anglers alike will be lured to the Rocky River this fall for Cleveland Metroparks’ Steelhead Run/Walk, Saturday, Sept. 28, at 3:30 p.m. Participants will enjoy the “run” of steelhead as they, too, run alongside the Rocky River in the scenic, yet challenging five-mile race.
The course leaves the Emerald Necklace Marina in Rocky River and follows Valley Parkway south to Hogsback Lane. The race continues uphill to the Stinchcomb Memorial and around the memorial trail before returning back down Hogsback Lane to the All Purpose Trail and finishing at the Marina.
Registration before September 27 is $20. Race day registration is $25. Awards will be given, and everyone is invited to a post-race fish-fry dinner. The cost is $10 and includes walleye, coleslaw, roasted corn and hush puppies. For online registration or more information, log on to www.hermescleveland.com. Online registration closes Friday, Sept. 27 at 9 a.m.
