The Cleveland Indians continued to show signs of a positive season ahead as they beat the San Francisco Giants by the score of 4-3 on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. With the win the Indians improve to 8-5 on the spring while the Giants fall to 4-5.

Starting pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka (Dice-K) allowed no runs and five hits in three innings of work. He struck out two and lowered his spring ERA to just 2.57. As one of the candidates for a spot on the team’s rotation, Dice-K had another outing that solidified his cause.
Offensively for the Tribe, Nick Swisher hit his second home run in as many days while Juan Diaz and Roberto Perez hit their first of the spring.
In other news, the Indians announced they have re-assigned INF Jesus Aguilar, OF Jeremy Hermida, and LHP Edward Paredes to Minor League Camp. Hermida will remain with the big league club for a few more games before reporting.
The Cleveland spring roster now consists of 61 players (32 pitcher, 14 infielders, six catchers, and nine outfielders.
