Despite feeling under the weather earlier in the morning, Kyrie Irving stepped up come game time to lead the game with 24 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers fell to the Memphis Grizzlies by the score of 103-92 on Friday, March 8, 2013. With the loss the Cavaliers fall to 21-41 on the season while the Grizzlies improve to 41-19.

In addition to Irving’s 24 points, Alonzo Gee added 12 points on the night while Tristan Thompson added 10 points and 10 rebounds or the starters. C.J. Miles led the reserves with 13 points in Cleveland’s losing effort.
Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies with 22 points while Mike Conley had a solid game with 17 points and 11 assists. Ed Davis contributed 12 points while Tony Allen added another 11. Jerryd Bayless added 17 points in just 23 minutes on the floor to lead the bench.
Coach Byron Scott made no excuses for the Cavaliers in the post-game press conference when he stated:
“Two words for you: third quarter. It’s that simple and that might have been the last four home games where we’ve come out like that in the third quarter. We just got lucky and got away with it in the Utah game.”
Despite leading by three at the half, the Cavaliers were outscored 32-18 in the third quarter against Memphis.
