Cleveland Cavaliers recap: Ellington scores 21 as Cavs fall to Spurs 119-113

Wayne Ellington led the Cleveland Cavaliers in scoring with 21 points off the bench as the Cavs fell to the San Antonio Spurs by the score of 119-113 on Saturday, March 16, 2013. With the loss the Cavaliers fall to 22-44 on the season while the Spurs improve to 51-16.

In addition to Ellington’s 21 points in just 22 minutes on the floor, fellow reserve Marreese Speights added 19 points for the Cavs in their losing effort. Among the starters, Shaun Livingston added 16 points while both Dion Waiters and Alonzo Gee scored 15 points on the night.

For the Spurs, Tim Duncan exploded for 30 points and 12 rebounds on 13-19 shooting from the field while Kawhi Leonard added 24 points and 13 rebounds. Manu Ginobili was good for a double-double off the bench with 14 points and 10 assists.

Cleveland will have a day to recover before they return home to face the Indiana Pacers at Quicken Loans Arena on March 18. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT.
