On Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced they have recalled forward Samardo Samuels from the Canton Charge.

Samuels started in two games for the Charge averaging 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in 37.5 minutes per game. He has played in 18 games with the Cavaliers this season averaging 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per game.
Samuels was sent to Cleveland’s exclusively owned and operated NBA Development League (NBADL) team on December 28 presumably to get some floor time in outside of traditional team practice.
Samuels will be available on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, when the Cavaliers host the Sacramento Kings at Quicken Loans Arena.
No additional news is available when center Anderson Varejao will return to action after having missed six straight games with a bruised right knee. The coaching staff expected Varejao to miss a couple of games however Varejao has not healed as quickly as they had hoped.
