The fifth annual Cleveland Beer Week is in full swing (or should that be swig?). Kicking off last Friday with collaboration beer events all over town and the opening of Fat Head's Tasting Room, it continued over the weekend with various events, highlighted by the "Culture Yourself" beer and cheese pairing event at Great Lakes Brewery.
If you missed the collaboration beer events, all seven can be found at Heinen's locations today. Each growler station has all seven collaboration beers, but only four taps at any given time in random rotation. Come on in and taste, along with some Chimay trappist cheese and bring your growlers to fill.
Or maybe beer and bacon is your thing? A visit to Fat Head's Brewery and Saloon will find all things bacon paired with the big hoppy family of Fat Head's beer. Or visit the real ale room at Indigo Imp Brewery for pint of cask-conditioned German Roggenbier (rye beer) and a perfectly paired snack. There's also a beer dinner tonight at Buckeye Beer Engine, and another at Spice Kitchen and Bar. All over town there are tap takeovers featuring breweries from Ohio and across the nation and world. So get out and enjoy Cleveland Beer Week.
My only complaint about CBW is there are too many things to do and one just can't be everywhere! Not a bad dilemma, though. Oh... and don't forget to get your tickets for the Brewzilla beer tasting event on Saturday.. the culmination of Cleveland Beer Week. Check the CBW website for a listing of all activities and to buy tickets for those that require them: www.clevelandbeerweek.org
