A clerk whipped a boy at a dollar store in Georgia last week. The clerk was seen on tape whipping a customer's child at least 25 times with a belt, leading to her arrest. According to a report from Wednesday (Feb. 6), the Dollar General employee is Emilia Graciela Bell and she has been arrested for aggravated assault.
The victim, in this case, is an 8-year-old boy named Logan Ivey. Logan was at the store with his mother and according to Bell, threw a battery and a cookie at her. It was at that point that Bell allegedly took the boy behind the counter and began to whip him with a belt.
Police Assistant Sheriff Bill Thompson stated, "There were two different angles from different cameras in the store. They'd only watched the first when they arrested Ms. Bell. After finding out another camera had caught it, you could see her striking the child 16 to 18 more times." This led to her arrest, from which she has already posted a bond.
Bell has not entered a plea in this case, but the evidence seems pretty straightforward at this point. With video footage from two camera proving that the store clerk whipped the boy, the courts will have a lot of evidence to work with in this case.
