A 7-Eleven cashier chased an armed robber wielding a box cutter into the parking lot of the Lodi store and pointed him out to responding police, who arrested him.
Daniel Brewer, 46, walked into the Main Street convenience store just just before 2:15 a.m., pointed the box cutter at the cashier and demanded money, Lodi Deputy Police Chief Vincent A. Quatrone told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
The cashier handed over $175 but immediately called police. The robber hadn't made it past the parking lot when he was confronted by a trio of officers: Sgt. Anthony Mobilio and Patrolmen Legrand Castro and Michael Paglia.
The employee identified Brewer as the robber, and he was booked on robbery and weapons charges, Quatrone said. He's being held on $250,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail pending a court date.
