The nine-man a cappella vocal ensemble Clerestory is ready to begin its eighth season at the end of this month. The opening concert will be entitled The Bard. As may be guessed from that title, they have prepared a program of works inspired by the words of William Shakespeare. Featured composers will include Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Rutter, and Jaako Mäntyjärvi. Newer compositions by Cory Johnson and Karen Siegel will also be featured.
The San Francisco performance of The Bard will be given at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (1111 O’Farrell Street, just west of the corner of Franklin Street) on Saturday, September 28, at 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased for $25 with a $10 rate for students and seniors. They are available online through the event page for this concert on the Clerestory Web site.
