There is a clash in the Carrier Dome this evening as Clemson rolls into Syracuse for the first time. Syracuse(22-0, 9-0 ACC) sits atop the polls as the #1 ranked team in all the land, is on a 22-game unbeaten streak this season, and should be fresh after having six days off. Clemson (15-6, 6-3 ACC) comes in on a 2-game win streak having just dispatched Georgia Tech and sports one of the toughest defenses around ranked 2nd in the ACC and allowing just 55 points per game.

The Orange last played Notre Dame in a game that saw Trevor Cooney smash out of a shooting slump in a big way by hitting 9 of 12 threes and going 11-15 overall for a career high 33 points. Those 9-made threes ties him with James Southerland, Andy Rautins, and Gerry McNamara for most in a game. Syracuse super freshman point guard Tyler Ennis had 8-assists against ND giving him 125 on the year and making him the tops in that category in the ACC.

Look for a battle as these two clash for just the third time ever (Clemson won in 1960 and in 2007) and remember, a trip to Pittsburgh looms large on Wednesday for the Orange.
