The Concord Hospital Center for Health Promotion is offering a class that pairs the ancient chakra system with a more modern stress-relief technique. The seven-week class, called Heal Your Chakras with EFT Tapping, starts Thursday Oct. 3.
The seven chakras — the major energy centers in the body — influences different areas of life, such as love, health, security, wealth and spirituality.
"The chakra system is important because the energy of each chakra corresponds to the physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological aspects of our lives, thus governing and influencing how we experience life on a day to day basis," says Linda Hopper, one of the instructors of the program. Hopper is a certified emotional freedom techniques (EFT) practitioner, a Reiki master, a certified hypnotherapist, and a Kundalini and Kripalu based yoga teacher. "When our chakras are closed or blocked, life becomes a struggle and is hard. When our chakras are healthy and open, life flows much more easily."
During this class, participants will learn how to use EFT or tapping — an innovative, scientifically proven practice — to clear their blocked chakras. Tapping uses ancient acupressure principles and modern psychology to provide relief from stress and a host of other emotional and physical problems. Research shows that tapping is an effective tool to help people cope with stress, test anxiety, phobias and more. Tapping, which is growing in popularity, was recently featured on the Dr. Oz Show and in Forbes magazine.
"When we use EFT, we identify problems and their corresponding chakras," Hopper says. "We can literally and tap away the blockages and restore the energetic balance of the chakras. Healthy chakras support us on life's journey."
The class is from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM on seven consecutive Thursdays from Oct. 3-Nov. 14. The Concord Hospital Center for Health Promotion is located at 49 South Main Street in Concord. To register for the class, click here.
