Clear and frigid, -10 in the coldest spots by dawn

Miami Valley , Whitewater Valley, and the I-71 corridor of Ohio/Indiana:

High pressure in control will keep skies clear and winds light tonight. This will allow temperatures to once again fall below zero overnight any light breeze will make for wind chills as low as -15. Tomorrow high pressure will begin to fade allowing a strong storm to move up the East Coast. Our region will be West of this storm however winds will become East/Northeast keeping temperatures down for one more day. Even with that said temperatures will be much milder tomorrow with highs in the upper 20s and even near 30 in a few locations South. A weak front will approach from the NW late Thursday but before it gets here, Thursday winds will switch SW and get temperatures above freezing for the first time in a week. This front will set temperatures back below the freezing mark both Friday and Saturday allowing a couple of disturbances to rotate through keeping the chances of light snow showers in the forecast. The first disturbance will move South of the region Friday morning giving areas South of us a round of 1 to 4 inches of snow. If this system tracks further North than we could see some of this. Saturday the second will track right over our region giving us maybe an inch or two. This system however will be accompanied by a warm front bringing milder air in behind it by Monday with highs in the 40s.

Long range:
Big warm up in store late next week ahead of an approaching Pacific Ocean storm. This system could bring temperatures near 55 or even 60 degrees next Thursday the 20th and lasting for a few days before a sharp front arrives over the following weekend bringing winter back. With this system there stands the potential of very heavy rain over snow melt. Stay tuned.
