Cleanse your closet

Closet disaster

As we step into a new year we are bombarded with ads and commercials about cleanses and diets.  Well, how about this year, instead of the  "Special K" diet, try cleansing something other than your body, cleanse your closet.  As soon as I stepped back into real life after the holiday season, I took a little time to take at least 10 pieces I never wear and put them in a bag.  Whether you give them to a shelter or even take them to a resale store to get a few extra bucks in your pocket, the feeling is refreshing.  Not only does it put some space in your closet, but it deletes unnecessary clothes from your wardrobe and makes room for something new.

I will be the first to admit that I have a hard time letting clothes go.  I am a bit of a "hoarder" when it comes to clothes actually.  The easiest way for me to let go is to look at an item and try and remember the last time I wore it.  If I couldn't remember,  the plastic bag was the best place for it.  Give it a try, you may be surprised how great it feels!
