During the summer months, it's easy to be to overwhelmed by summer heat to want to cook. As a result, you may have a lot of fruits and vegetables on hand that you're not using. Enter the smoothie- the most delicious way to clean the fridge sine the Nine Egg Fritatta.

If you have a blender, then you're in business. A cup of ice cubes is a great start to making a smoothie. From there anything can happen. Yogurt + kale+ carrots? Almond Milk +blueberries + bananas? Yes to both. Beets with lemon juice, spinach, and oranges can be incredibly tasty as well. It's a great way to stay healthy and hydrated, and also a fun way to eat your vegetables.

The best thing is that summer fruits freeze well and are easy to portion out, even when frozen. A cup of ice, half a cup of blueberries and strawberries, then add a cup of yogurt. Hit the button the grinds up ice, then pour when ready. You could even add rum or tequila if you're having a summer movie fest with friends. Another hit is the papaya smoothie. Papaya doesn't have a bold flavor, so definitely add lemon or pineapple, or maybe kiwi to liven it up.
