Clayton County Public Transportation Update

See also

Public transportation has been a hot-button issue in Clayton County ever since C-Tran was defunded in March of 2010. When county officials halted C-Tran operations, it left public-transportation-dependent residents stranded, and scrambling for alternative, and sometimes more expensive, ways to get to and from essential destinations – work, school, the bank, grocery store, etc.

As with any debate, there are always two sides to an issue. Proponents say public transportation will help to improve the economy by attracting businesses, retaining jobs, and rejuvenating residential neighborhoods. Opponents argue that public transportation is an unnecessary waste of tax payer money because it ultimately decreases property values and does not stimulate the economy.

Well, Clayton County residents will have an opportunity to weigh in on this important issue and make their voices heard at an upcoming conversation being held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Morrow City Hall, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, Georgia 30236.

Presented by the Clayton County Democratic Party, the guest speakers will be Mike Glanton, GA State Representative District 75, and Brionte McCorkle of the Sierra Club.

Don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of this conversation.
