Claudio Miranda wins Critics' Choice Award for Best Cinematography 'Life of Pi'

Claudio Miranda, cinematographer of "Life of Pi," has won the Best Cinematography Award at the 18th annual Critics' Choice Awards at Barker Hangar on Jan. 10 in Santa Monica, Calif. The awards show was hosted by Sam Rubin and was broadcast on the CW Network. This is the first Critics' Choice Award win and nomination for Claudio Miranda.

Claudio Miranda has also been nominated for an Academy Award for the photography of "Life of Pi." The film has been nominated for a total of 11 Academy Awards and has a very good chance of winning in this category. The Academy Awards will be presented on the last Sunday in February.

In "Life of Pi," a young man who survives a disaster at sea is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, he forms an unexpected connection with another survivor ... a fearsome Bengal tiger. The film was directed by Ang Lee and stars Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan and Adil Hussain.
