Halloween is a set annually on October 30 every year. Many movie fans prepare for the upcoming holiday of ghouls, goblins, zombies and monsters by watching many of the classic films from past and present years.
Some movies are extremely scary they are actually terrifying. Others are spine tingling! Nightmares can occur for some while others experience a chill during a slasher film.
That doesn’t seem to stop people from watching these movies over and over again. It is almost a tradition to seek out a spooky movie that is spell binding and makes you gasp and jump out of your seat.
Years ago the stories were based on simple fear and a great performance from the actors in the film. Today the same is true but special effects do play a larger part in movie making. Now computer generated effects make the horror films even more realistic and scarier yet.
Some of the most watched films during October and the season prior to Halloween include: “The Haunting”, “The Changeling”, “The Amityville Horror”, “The Shining”, “The Exorcist”, “Jaws”, “Rosemary’s Baby”, “Poltergeist”, “The Thing”, “Carrie”, “The Silence of the Lambs”, “Halloween”, “The Ring”, “Saw”, “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, “Night of the Living Dead”, “Insidious”, “Psycho”, “It” , “Pet Cemetery” , “The Birds”, “Phantasm”, “Children of the Corn”, “Cujo”, “Friday the 13th”, “Dracula” and “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre”.
