Classic Paintings Come to Brighton

The Detroit Institute of Arts will be installing reproductions of seven masterpieces in downtown Brighton this week. They will be installed on Friday, June 28, and will be on display for several months. The paintings will be a nice addition to the already thirty sculptures that were installed as part of the Brighton Biennial outdoor exhibit. There will be a kick off and free walking tour of the paintings on Wednesday, July 10 at 7 p.m. The tour will start at Studio West, which is located at 111 S. West St. This program is great way for families to learn more about Art as they spend time in the downtown area.

Local artists are also invited to join an outdoor painting session to paint their own version of the masterpieces on Saturday, July 20. The paintings from the session will be displayed at the Brighton Art Festival, which runs this year from August 2-4 in downtown Brighton.
