The classic movie channel getTV just signed a major deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group, according to the the Press Release on June 23. This means that this deal will be bringing the classic movie channel to 33 new markets including in places like Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Portland, and St. Louis.
With getTV's new SBG agreement, the network's clearance level is close to 70 perfect of U.S. TV households. That ups the current reach almost 20 perfect since the channel's debut four months ago.
The launch dates for the network's 33 SBG stations will be completed before the end of September 2014. Some of the stations that will be getting getTV are:
- The Baltimore station, WNUV
- The Boise station, KYUU
- The Las Vegas station, KVMY
- The Madison station, WMSN
- The Milwaukee station, WVTV
- The Flint station, WSMH
- The Wichita station, KMTW
- The Dayton Station, WKEF
And many other stations are joining getTV's affiliated lineup.
The Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of SBG David Amy commented about the agreement:
We are excited to add getTV to our channel line-up.
Amy also believes that there is an audience demand in their markets for classic movies, and they are pleased to fulfill that local need.
The Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc is the largest and one of the most diversified TV broadcasting companies with affiliations with all the major networks.
getTV is a digital channel that is operated by Sony Pictures TV Networks. It was launched in February 2014, and is a channel that is dedicated to showing classic Hollywood movies. Just recently the station for the month of June celebrated classic blonde bombshells.
