Classic films released on DVD, 2/9/2010

When girls are bad, they're even better?
When girls are bad, they're even better?

A new feature starts here today, recapping new DVD releases of classic films each week.

However, this may not have been the best week to start, since there are only two releases for Tuesday, February 9th, 2010:

  • From Sony, The Bad Girls of Film Noir Vols 1 and 2. Read the LA Times review.
  • Orson Welles' take on Shakespeare's King Lear (made for television-1953). Is it a film when it's made for television? No--unless it's been written, directed, produced by and stars Orson Welles. Be advised, however, that the running time for this two and a half hour play-turned TV movie is only ninety minutes...

Read this column every Tuesday for new release information about classic cinema.

Check out Netflix to rent these and many other classic films.
