Classic commercials: Nissan Skyline

The Nissan Skyline is historically the most prevalent vehicle from Asia, with second place going to another Nissan product; the Z cars. Both of these vehicles have become legendary around the world for speed, performance, and cutting edge technology for their time. It is very impressive to see a 1980's chassis travel the Wangan at 200+ mph! The older Skylines aren't as fast at the new GT-R fully modified, but they are still a strong competition for even the latest Skyline generation.

Considered and coin phrased, "Godzilla" by motor enthusiasts abroad, the Nissan Skyline is an iconic machine every time it is released. An interesting history is what makes the Nissan Skyline such a valued vehicle! These vehicles have been popular since their inception back in the late 1950's, but weren't nearly as fast as they are now.

Starting out as a small unknown vehicle from the East, not many Skylines were originally sold. The first version of the Nissan Skyline wasn't even a Nissan nor was it a sports car. The luxury sedan Prince Skyline was a pioneer of it's time. Little did the first Skyline's know they would grow to become a legendary sports car; almost mythical in existence. Below you will find the top six historical Nissan Skyline commercials. Enjoy this trip through Nissan Skyline time!

Sorry, but I don't think the Skyline was well known outside of Japan until the game Gran Turismo started here in the 90's. Saying it is the "most prevalent vehicle from asia" is a huge overstatement. The toyota or nissan pickup is better known around the world!
