Pinehurst means “golf” in the Sandhills of North Carolina. On May 5th, it will also mean “classic cars” for one weekend in the early spring. The inaugural Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance will feature over 100 historic automobiles and motorcycles that have accepted invitations to participate in a judged car show of elegance. The cars will be separated into the following classes:
- Brass Era Cars 1895 to 1915
- Production Prewar 1916 to 1942
- Production Postwar 1946 to 1982
- American and European Classics 1925 to 1948
- Sports and GT Cars 1946 to 1966
- Sports and GT Cars 1967 and on
- American Muscle Cars 1961 to 1974
- Race Cars 1900 to present
- Preservation Cars
- Corvette Anniversary
- Porsche Featured Marque Cars
- The cars of Holman Moody (Display; non-judged)
Concours vehicles of interest include:
- 1910 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost
- 1937 Bugatti Type 57
- 1949 MG-TC
- 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300-SL
- 1968 Ferrari 330 GTC
General admission to the Concours is $40.00 in advance and $50.00 after April 30th.
Corvette and Porsche are the featured vehicles and will kick-off the weekend activities on Saturday with a display by area Corvette and Porsche owners on the same two fairways adjacent to the famed Pinehurst Resort Clubhouse that will be the location of the inaugural Pinehurst Concours. and submit model, year and any show history. Entrants will be notified of their selection by April 12. Once the invitation is accepted, a field parking pass will be mailed.
