Cassandra writes strong, powerful heroines so it only makes sense that the female leads of her two Internationally bestselling series, The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices made it to the final match of The YA Sisterhood Tournament of Heroines. (Note: There are spoilers for both series below!)
In The Mortal Instruments Clary is trying to find her kidnapped mother while trying to find out who she really is. She may be thrown into a world of fighters but she becomes a quick study and can think quickly for herself proving that she is a worthy heroine to win this tournament.
Tessa of The Infernal Devices has every reason to want to curl up in a ball and die. She does the opposite and uses her new skill and knowledge to try and find the Magister and uncover his plot despite her brother’s betrayal.
Both Clary and Tessa are very passionate and love deeply. They are strong women despite the gap in generations and as Clare said on her Tumblr, “I’m sure, given the chance to meet, they’d like each other very much.”
Normally when one of Clare’s characters are in the final match of a tournament like this she offers incentive for fans to vote. This time that is a little hard to do when both opponents are her characters! Her fans will win regardless with a special scene. If Clary wins, Clare will write Jace’s perspective of the greenhouse scene from City of Bones (their first kiss) and if Tessa wins, she will write Tessa’s first kiss with Jem from his POV.
Voting goes on through January 7 12:01 AM. The winner will be announced on January 14. Don’t forget to vote for either Clary or Tessa.
