March 19 marks the release of “Clockwork Princess,” the final installment of Cassandra Clare’s bestselling Infernal Devices series. On release day, Clare will set off on her first bus tour. Today she shared on Tumblr the first image of the bus, which displays large images of the “Clockwork Princess” and “City of Bones” book covers.
Here is what Clare had to say about the bus to Publisher’s Weekly:
“I have to admit, I hate flying,” she says, “but I think the real core idea of the bus tour is that there’s something about the on-the-ground nature of it that really builds excitement. The wrapped bus is a cross-country billboard for both the book series and the upcoming movie.” She also likes the fact that she can carry more giveaways for fans, since she’s not flying. “Plus, it makes me feel like I’m in a rock band, writing songs on the road. I’m tone-deaf, but it’s nice to dream!”

The author recently revealed that “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” star Lily Collins (Clary) will join her at the Los Angeles signing. Collins will be available to discuss and answer questions regarding the highly anticipate book-to-film adaptation of the first book in Clare’s Mortal Instruments series. “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” premieres August 23.
