Shadowhunter fans may be eager for the May 2014 release of "The City of Heavenly Fire" but next year brings much excitement for Clare fans. Clare recently revealed on twitter that her upcoming middle grade novel Magisterium series, co-written by author and friend Holly Black will debut in fall of 2014.
The first book in the five-book series published by Scholastic is titled "The Iron Trial." The film rights to the Magisterium series have been optioned by Constantin Film, the same house who owns all rights to Clare's Shadowhunter Chronicles series.' Both Cassandra Clare and Holly Black are writing the script for the theatrical release.
Here's a synopsis of Magisterium:
Twelve-year-old Callum Hunt has grown up knowing three rules by heart. Never trust a magician. Never pass a test a magician gives you. And never let a magician take you to the Magisterium.
Call is about to break all the rules. And when he does, his life will change in ways he can’t possibly imagine.
Cassandra Clare is active through social media and always eager to share info with her fans. Recently she offered a description of the Magisterium's key player, Callum "Call" Hunt. Clare also shared a sketch of the character by artist Cassandra Jean (see image here.)
