This is the second in a series of articles on the Noel Night festivities.
I started my ‘Noel Night’ at Wayne State University’s Old Main. There was live Jazz and local vendors set up to sale their wares. All the merchandise was Michigan made/ handmade items available for purchase. I was given a card by a representative of www.Michigan-artisans.org and I spoke briefly with Becky Fixel. I was told an important requirement to be a part of their group was that everything was handmade and made in Michigan. I think that is great. For more information on purchasing items or participating in the group; please use the contact information listed above.
I took lots of photographs and I tried to give representation to all the vendors who participated. A list of vendors can be found at the following link; www.youtique-detroit.com/ Please check out the slideshow to see if anything catches your fancy. There was a lot of neat stuff but the work of one designer stood out to me and that was the jewelry designs of Clarieta Thomas.
Clarieta Thomas is a lifelong resident of the city of Detroit. She told she has lived here all her life and currently resides in Northwest Detroit. Check out her displays and if you find that you too like her Unique Jewelry she can be contacted directly through the following information; Phone: 313 982-3849, Email: msbeadlady@hotmail.com, www.msbeadladyjewels.etsy.com
I would like to note that the live Jazz played in the lobby of Old Main was excellent. Local Michigander, Mr. Joe O'Mara did an excellent job on the saxophone. I'm not surprized Mr. O'Mara was so talented since he occasionally tours with the legendary group 'The Temptations'. To view my Noel Night Collection photos click here;
