Add Claire Holt to the list of “The Vampire Diaries’ alum that will be making the jump to the “TVD” spin-off, “The Originals,” but have no fear, Rebekah is not leaving Mystic Falls just yet. During an on-set interview (CarterMatt , March 21), Holt recently dished on Rebekah squaring off against Katherine for the cure.
Rebekah has been chasing down the cure in hopes to become human again and Katherine has it. Rebekah will go head to head against Katherine in order to get it. Holt says the two strong-willed vamps are so much alike that it would be impossible for them to be BFF’s: “ I think Rebekah likes having the power. She likes controlling situations. I think she’s liked to play that sort of vixen role in Mystic Falls, and Katherine has been the ultimate vixen, so I don’t think they’re going to be the best of friends, that’s for sure.”
Holt also goes on to say that her recent pairing with Paul Wesley’s Stefan probably won’t last much longer. She says that while the couple has chemistry and quickly became a fan-favorite, “I don’t think anybody really wants to be with Rebekah forever unless she changes her ways.” One must wonder where this leaves Stefan, will he find a new love or will he rejoin the Stefan/Elena/Damon triangle of angst?
