The freshmanShowtime thriller "Homeland" was a big winner at the 69th Golden Globe Awards on January 15, 2012. The series won the awards for Best TV Drama and Claire Danes won for Best Actress is a TV Drama.
"Homeland,' starring Claire Danes, Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin, premiered on Showtime in the fall of 2011. The edge of your seat drama stars Danes as a CIA agent fighting terrorism, and her own demons. The series will return for a second season. Homeland 90 minute season one finale.
This was the third win for Dane, who won the Golden Globe for her role in Temple Grandin last year. Danes, who also won for "My So Called Life," noted that she won her first Golden Globe at the age of 15 in her acceptance speech. HBO Golden Globe wins led by Temple Grandin and The Pacific
The nominees for Best TV Drama Series included: American Horror Story on FX ; Boardwalk Empire on HBO; Boss on Starz; (Kelsey Grammer wins Golden Globe for Boss); Game of Thrones on HBO; and Homeland on Showtime.
The nominees for Best Actress in a TV Drama included:; Mireille Enos in The Killing; Julianna Margulies in The Good Wife (Julianna Margulies wins Emmy for The Good Wife); Madeleine Stowe in Revenge; Callie Thorne in Necessary Roughness; and Claire Danes in Homeland.
