CJM Racing, which fielded the No. 11 car in the Nationwide Series in 2009, has suspended plans for Nationwide Series competition in 2010, according to an announcement by team owners Tony and Bryan Mullet on Friday.
"As of now, it appears that CJM will not be running the 2010 Nationwide season," the release said. "It is really hard for us to see this great group of people move in other directions. They have done so much to build this program and beyond that, it has become like a family."
CJM Racing made four Sprint Cup Series starts in 2006, then focused its sites on the Nationwide Series, competing there from 2007 through 2009. During that time, the team posted six top-fives and 20 top-10s in 87 starts.
CJM Racing fielded the number 11 for all 35 races on the 2009 Nationwide Series schedule. Seven drivers took turns behind the wheel of the car, including Scott Lagasse Jr., Trevor Bayne, Kelly Bires, Mike Bliss, Denny Hamlin, Andrew Ranger, and Brian Scott.
Those seven drivers combined to give CJM five top-fives and 12 top-10 finishes in 2009.
"Our vision for life, business, and racing is to honor God with the time, talents, and resources he has given us," the team release said. "Over the last four years, we have been able to extend that vision with millions of people. We have been surrounded by a great group of people that have supported us and developed a successful program."
