Trying terrorists in civilian courts in New York City will cost $200 million a year, said Mayor Bloomberg, because of the security precautions needed (Wall St. J., 1/7, A8).
Remember when Obama’s Attorney-General denied that the process would be expensive? Heaven help my city if the U.S. decides to try more terrorists here!
Actually, in later news, the Mayor has asked the federal government to pay the additional cost.
