Civil liberties almost gone: Restore America Now

Our civil liberties are vanishing faster than a snowman in august while the federal deficit grows like cancer every second. Do you find that disturbing?  The election of 2012 is about the constitution.  For the first time in history the U.S. Constitution is in mortal danger. The mainstream media is assisting in its demise. On the July 4, 2011 issue of Time magazine the cover featured an image of the documents first page overlaid with the bold question “Does it still matter?”

The article paints a negative picture of the Constitution calling it irrelevant, useless etc. People are already saying we live in a Post-Constitutional America. The Constitution must win for us to end the eradicating of liberties and to restore them.  On July 5, 1926 President Coolidge put it best in this speech-

"It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction cannot lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers."

In case you didn’t realize there is only one candidate that fits this description: Ron Paul.

Paul has made this pledge: To cut $1 trillion in federal spending in the first year. To eliminate five cabinet agencies and power returned to the states. Balance our federal budget in only 3 years.
